How long is the program?

Each program is divided into 6 sessions (with an optional introduction and celebration session).

At home, expect to spend 1 ½ to 2 hours to complete each session. (We recommend completing one session per week with your partner.)

If you are taking this program in a Group Study, each of the six sessions are 1 ½ to 2 hours long and have in-between session assignments (written exercises, practice, and reading.)

What’s the maximum number of couples acceptable for the small group?

Ideally, the group should be limited to approximately 6-8 couples in order for each participant to receive the most out of each session.

Can the sessions be split up?

The sessions are designed to cover one topic/resolution at a time and work best when completed in 90-minute increments. However, two 45- minute sessions can work as long as not too much time lapses between sessions. We’d suggest meeting once a week.

Can I do this program on my own, without my partner?

Although you can still gain insight into the relationship by watching the DVD and reading the materials, most of the written and experiential exercises are designed to be completed with your partner.

My spouse and I are going through a difficult time. Is this program appropriate for us?

Although this program will help couples in all stages of their relationship, it is an educational program and not meant to replace therapy. If you and your partner are experiencing difficulties in your relationship, the program can offer some insight into your relationship but we recommend seeking outside counsel as part of your resolution.

My partner and I are considering getting married. Is this program appropriate for us?

Absolutely! The program is geared for couples in all stages and can help couples build a strong foundation for their relationship.

I want to bring this curriculum to my church. What do I need to do?

You will need to purchase a Facilitator Kit to get you started, which offers step-by-step instructions for facilitating a Group Study program. No training is necessary.

Are there other translations available?

As of now, English is the only language the program is written in. If you have a specific language you’d like to see translated, please email us at: info@newwaytolove.com

What if we still need more help after the program?

You may find that you need additional counsel after completing this program. “Getting The Love You Want” has lists of therapists that are trained in psychological theories and practical observations.
Imago Relationship theory explains why the differences which lead to frustrations are actually a natural part of what originally attracted you to each other. Using insights from brain studies and major psychological research, Imago Therapy takes a look at the story of your relationship in a fresh way.
